Face Mask is Mandatory, but Which Mask is for You?

I'm sure you have all noticed the different kinds of face masks people are wearing, especially since they are required by law in Ontario when in indoor public spaces. Now the type of face mask required does not matter, as long as it covers the face.

"The mask or face covering should cover your nose, mouth and chin, without gapping. Wearing a mask or face covering is an additional measure we can take to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and keep each other safe. This means that, with some exceptions, all customers or visitors entering an indoor premise or apartment and condominium common area are required to wear a mask or face covering while inside." -City of Toronto 664-2020 By-Law

According to the CDC, transmission of the corona virus can be reduced by the use of masks. This is what led to the widespread use of masks.

What are the Different Types of Masks?

There are different types of face masks that are popular amongst people and I want to break down which of them will work best for you.

Cloth Face Masks

Cloth face masks are washable and offer a longer life span for a single user, but the protection they offer is on the lower end of the spectrum, in terms of masks.

Who is this best for? Cloth masks are great for everyday use. Being washable really helps the longevity of this mask. Cloth masks come in different styles and prints, and we provide different styles to suit your needs.

Disposable Face Masks (Surgical)

Surgical masks are not washable, loose-fitting, blue, and disposable. Surgical masks are fluid resistant and provide some protection against larger respiratory droplets from coughs and sneezes. Primarily, they prevent the wearer from spreading infectious droplets to others.

Who this is best for.  Surgical masks are great for use in the retail and hospitality industry. Businesses can supply these masks to their workers and customers who do not have masks, at a relatively low cost. We offer these supplies in bulk as well. If you own a business, then these masks are great to have.

N95 Respiratory Masks

An N95 is a tight-fitting respirator mask. N95 Respirator masks can remove particles from the air while filtering out at least 95% of very small particles. These offer greater protection and offer a better seal on the user's face.

Who this is best for.  N95 Respiratory Masks have the best protection, but are also in high demand by healthcare workers. If you are in need, at risk, or work in the healthcare industry and need masks, we can provide them to you.

Which Mask Should You Wear?

Review the above options and see which item meets your needs best. Everyone has different needs and will vary accordingly. Having a mask of any type, whether it be home-made, cloth, surgical, or N95, will be better than not having a mask.

Wearing a face mask is not only about caring for yourself, but most importantly, caring for your co-workers, customers, and the community around you. Please wear a face mask and let's work together to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
